Will the Air Show be cancelled if it rains? Not necessarily. Brief showers are quite common this time of year in South Texas, especially overnight. Daily weather announcements will be posted daily on our Air Show Information Hotline, (361) 516-6219 throughout air show week to provide you the latest information for the weekend show. All announcements pertaining to weather forecasts will be updated daily and posted on this Web site.
Can I bring a pop-up canopy tents (10'x10') for shade?
No, but you can bring umbrellas! Umbrella use will be dependent on wind conditions the day of the show.
Can we bring in picnic lunches and drinks?
No, but there are a large number of food vendors on the flight line with a huge assortment of different types of foods at very reasonable prices.
Where can I get a schedule of events and performers for the day so I know what time different acts are flying?
A general schedule of performers and sequence of events will be available on this Web site as it becomes available, and at the Air Show. This schedule will list the sequence of performances but will not detail the exact time of each performance, since it is subject to change based on numerous factors right up until the day before the show. As a general rule of thumb, gates will open around 10 a.m., with flying starting as early as 11 a.m. The Blue Angels will begin their performance shortly after 3 p.m.
Where do I park?
All spectators will be allowed to park on board NAS Kingsville for convenient access to the Air Show venue.
What time do the gates open?
Gates open at 10 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday show will feature a concert after the day's performances with nationally-known country act Emerson Drive. This event is FREE for all air show patrons.
What time is the Feature Show?
The Feature Show begins at approximately 11:00 a.m. and is over at about 5 p.m. Note: These times are subject to change.
Is the show schedule the same for both Saturday and Sunday?
Yes, the air show itself is the same for both days. However, there is a free concert following the Saturday show with country music band Emerson Drive.
How Much is parking?
Ample free parking is available for all air show patrons, close to the flight line.
Is there shade?
The Air Show facility is conducted under an open sky. Patrons are encouraged to plan accordingly.
What happens if it rains?
We always hope for beautiful weather during Air Show weekend. The show will go on rain or shine, as long as the safety of the pilots and our patrons will not be compromised. Check our Air Show Informaiton Hot Line (361-516-6219) for daily updates.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed.
Is there an ATM onsite?
Yes, and standard ATM fees apply.
May I upgrade to reserved seating prior to the show?
We are offering advanced seating tickets for purchase the day of the event at the Chalet entrance. It is our recommendation that you purchase any upgraded seating prior to the event to ensure you are able to obtain the quantity of seats needed for a particular day. Our upgraded seating areas fill up very quickly and might possibly sell out prior to the show.
I’m a pilot and own a small plane. Can I fly-in to the show?
No. NAS Kingsville is a closed air field. However, there are local air fields nearby Kingsville that will allow you to fly in.
Services for the Disabled
Parking
Handicapped parking will be permitted with valid handicapped tags.
Environment
While no designated seating exists for the disabled, the site IS accessible. A large portion of the Air Show spectator area is on hard, flat surfaces. Keep in the mind that the Air Show covers a large amount of real estate and patrons should be prepared to traverse a significant distance in the process of getting in and out of the Air Show site.
Bathrooms
Restroom facilities will be open to the public.
Sight Impaired
Seeing eye dogs ARE permitted.
