Wings Over South Texas would not be possible without the help of hundreds of volunteers every year.

Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Air Show. Every member of the staff of the Air Show is a volunteer! Their support, as well as the support of vendors and sponsors, makes our Air Show a top attraction.

Come as a group, as a family, or as an individual! We need your help and so does your community. All of the proceeds from the Air Show go directly to the support of many organizations in your community.

One of our primary goals is to provide opportunities for members of the community to get close to great airplanes and great people. While you are working you can feel, hear and see the excitement all around you. We have positions to fit every interest and skill level. Our biggest need for volunteers is during the show. Our vendors need staff assistance, and the beauty is that you as the volunteer can make a tidy sum of money based on that booth's sales. So get your groups together and come out and support your group and your community!

We are currently seeking 250 volunteers to work the food and merchandise booths each day for this year’s air show.

Each volunteer will be paid the same percentage of the profits that are made from the air show, regardless of the type of booth that you work, minus cash and inventory shortages from sales.

Each volunteer should:
• Dress comfortably with protective shoes (No open toes)
• Wear shirts must have sleeves (No tank tops)
• Wear head covering (cap, visor, or hairnet)
• Dress according to weather

A food voucher will be supplied to each volunteer per day and will only be valid for food purchase. It may not be used for merchandise or beer purchase. A cup will also be supplied, so unlimited soft drinks will be available.

You must be 18 years of age or older to work at any booth, and you must be 21 years of age or older to work at the alcohol booths. No alcohol may be consumed during the shifts. Beer servers must comply with all Texas and United States Navy requirements.

All food booth staff must have a valid Texas Food Handler’s Sanitation Card and they must meet all Texas and Navy requirements. For more information on Navy food handling requirements, please contact Daniel Rackley at 361.516.6196.  MWR will provide a parking pass for each day for all volunteers.

MWR is currently accepting volunteer applications. If you are interested, please contact Delia Martinez at 361.516.6449 or by e-mail at delia.martinez@navy.mil.
